Bisque
tiles ready for glazing. The bottom 6 tiles were fired together
the top fired as a separate unit. Shows how much the clay
body and glazes are dependant on the kiln's heat and what
else is firing at the time.l |

Glazing
finished, ready to add glass |
|
Glass
is chosen for colour and amount for effect. A clear glaze
is placed in the circle to hold the melted glass to the clay.
I often add more glaze on top to get a more crazed effect
in the glass. |

| This
is the piece, fired, mounted, framed and ready to hang. |
|
A
close up of the glass section show the crazing and the colour
interaction of the glaze and the glass in the blue halo around
the sun. This is caused by the clear glaze helping the glass
overflow gently into the glaze. Too much and it runs too little
and it doesn't move. |

 |
| This
is 'Blue Moon" another glass/clay fusion piece ready to
be fired. To me it is almost magic how the glazes change in
the kiln |
