Born
and raised in Toronto, Ms. Ramo takes her inspiration
from the natural world.
Jackie
Ramo has worked in a variety of artistic media, including
horticulture, painting and pottery. After several courses
with master potters and years of experimentation, she
has refined her craft and honed her own self-taught technique.
Jackie’s
art portfolio includes various styles and compositions
of art tiles, as well as watercolour paintings.
Her recent works include the dual aspects of ceramicist
and painter.
Currently
working predominately in clay, her work focuses on representational
and abstract forms, bringing new visions to old themes.
Jackie’s hand-crafted art tiles express a richness
of style and colour, each possessing a unique character.
Her
decorative art tiles are of the highest quality and artisanship.
Jackie’s hand-built creations include clay/glass
fusion, art deco, mosaic art, mounted single tiles, framed
multi-tiles, landscape tile art, and freestanding models.
Her
special projects include handmade accent tiles for kitchen
and bathroom walls and countertops, as well as crafted
tiles for coffee tabletops.
In
all its forms, nature's beauty inspires Jackie’s
paintings. Her watercolours depict vibrant plants, alluring
ponds, and vivid koi. Although she has employed other
painting media, Jackie prefers the fluidity of watercolours.
